Bhangarh Fort is built in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. In the 17th century, this fort was built. Madho Singh, the brother of Man Singh built the fort. Bhangarh Fort is about 80 km away from Jaipur. It was built near the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Aravali Hills. Baba Balu Nath agreed but only on one condition. The condition was that the shadow of the fort would never fall on his house. Unfortunately, due to the increase in the size of the fort, the shadow fell on the sages’s house. That’s how Baba Balu Nath cursed the fort and its surroundings which destroyed the fort and the area near it.

Legend of Princess Ratnavati  

Another famous legend of Bhangarh Fort says that Princess Ratnavati was the reason behind another curse on this place. Once a black magician fell in love with the princess as she was very beautiful. The black magician cast a spell on the cosmetics of the princess to make her fall in love with him. 

But somehow princess suspected his plan and again put a spell on the cosmetic which led to the death of the tantrik or black magician. Before dying, the tantrik cursed the whole place which made the place haunted and mysterious. Since then, many unfortunate incidents have happened at Bhangarh.

One can reach Bhangarh Fort by multiple options like train, air, or by road. 

  1. By air – Jaipur International Airport is the nearest airport from where one can reach Bhangarh Fort. It is around 83 km away. You can further take a cab or bus to reach Fort from the airport. 
  2. bus – one can take a bus from Jaipur to Alwar and then further local buses can drop visitors to bhangarh fort. 
  3. train – you can reach Dausa railway station which is the nearest railway station to Bhangarh. 
  4.  road – a drive by car or taxi from Jaipur to Bhangarh is just 2-3 hours. Also, from Delhi to Bhangarh, one can reach in 5-6 hours.  
Some tips for visiting 
  • The best time to enter the fort is between 6 am to 6 pm. According to the rules of ASI, one cannot enter the fort at night. This is due to its haunted reputation. 
  • A few things visitors must carry while visiting the fort are water bottles, some snacks, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes. 
  • The best months for the trip to Bhangarh fort are from October to March. This is because the weather is cooler and enjoyable.
